Forthcoming services: We hold services in St Olaf’s at 11am on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month throughout the year, and on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.
Our July services at St Olaf’s are as follows:
Sunday 10th July at 11am – Celtic Praise
Sunday 24th July at 11am – Patronal Festival when we celebrate our Patron Saint, St Olaf.
On the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month there is a service at Nether Wasdale at 9.30am. Nether Wasdale at the other end of the Lake – just 4 miles west of Wasdale Head. The beautiful little church of St Michael and All Angels is in the centre of the village. There are also services at Gosforth Church (8 miles away) at 11am every Sunday.
Cumbria is ecumenical and at St Olaf’s we like to forget labels, so we have created worship that reflects this. We also know that many come to enjoy Wasdale too, so our services last around 45 minutes. We have four core services that are used in rotation – Morning Worship, Communion, Morning Praise and Celtic Praise – the latter a peaceful and inspiring way to share time together in the Celtic tradition. All four services have been compiled and written especially for St Olaf’s.
If you are coming to join us and have a musical talent – do please let us know* and bring it with you! We have a superb little chamber pipe organ, as it has no pedals pianists can play it, and a music system when no organist is available. We love to make use of visiting musical talent when we worship!
